**Official National Weather Service forecasts project a high near 85°F for Chicago on September 12 under mostly sunny skies with south-southwest winds of 5–11 mph.** This positions the 84–85°F outcome as the market leader at 61.5% implied probability, ahead of 86–87°F at 36.0%. Model guidance and observational trends support a peak in the mid-80s, above the 1991–2020 climatological average high of 77.5°F but well below historical extremes like the 96°F record from 1952. Light precipitation chances remain low during peak heating hours, limiting cooling effects, while steering patterns favor modest warming without significant advection of hotter air. Traders appear to weigh the narrow forecast spread and limited upside potential, keeping probabilities tightly clustered around the 84–87°F range with minimal allocation to bins outside that window.
