Recent July ISM Services PMI data at 54.1, slightly below consensus forecasts, underscores persistent expansion in the services sector alongside mixed sub-indices such as contracting employment and elevated prices near 70. Trader sentiment reflects uncertainty over whether August readings will sustain the 54–55 range or shift amid moderating tariff and geopolitical mentions, resilient business activity, and ongoing pressures from petroleum costs plus mortgage and inflation concerns. With probabilities tightly clustered across 50–58 bands, key swing factors include upcoming employment trends, new orders momentum, and broader labor market or inflation releases ahead of the September 3 report.
