Letitia James holds a strong position as the Democratic incumbent seeking a third term in the November 2026 New York Attorney General election, reflecting New York's partisan lean and her established record of enforcement actions on issues including consumer protection and public safety. Both major-party candidates advanced unopposed through June primaries, narrowing the general election to James against Republican Saritha Komatireddy, a former federal prosecutor. An early August Siena poll showed James leading 54% to 36%, while Donald Trump's August endorsement of Komatireddy highlighted partisan contrasts but has not shifted the race into a toss-up. Traders price James at 82% amid structural advantages for the incumbent, with Komatireddy at 44.5% facing barriers typical for challengers in this state. Scheduled events include the November ballot and any late-cycle developments in campaign messaging or legal proceedings.
