Incumbent Democrat Josh Kaul holds a clear lead in trader consensus for the November 3, 2026, Wisconsin attorney general election, reflecting his established record and recent primary results. Both Kaul and Republican challenger Eric Toney advanced unopposed in the August 11 primaries, setting up a rematch of their 2022 contest, which Kaul won by about 1.3 percentage points. Toney benefits from unified Republican support, recent fundraising strength, and external ad spending targeting crime lab backlogs and enforcement priorities, while Kaul draws endorsements from labor groups and maintains institutional advantages as the sitting attorney general. The race occurs alongside an open gubernatorial contest in a state Donald Trump carried in 2024, contributing to competitive dynamics even as current pricing favors the incumbent.
