Recent August inflation data at 1.7% month-over-month, the lowest reading in 14 months, has reinforced the disinflation trajectory under current monetary policy, with core inflation holding near 1.8%. Central Bank REM surveys and private analyst consensus now cluster September expectations around 1.8%, reflecting stable peso dynamics, favorable seasonality in food and energy, and moderating regulated price adjustments. These fundamentals position the 1.9-2.1% band as the modal outcome in trader pricing while sustaining meaningful probability on 1.6-1.8%, consistent with the observed monthly average decline through the second half of 2026. The September release, due in mid-October, will test whether underlying pressures continue to ease toward the 1.6% area or reaccelerate modestly.
