Trader consensus centers on an upper-70s to low-80s high for Denver on September 17, reflecting the latest National Weather Service forecast of scattered thunderstorms with a projected maximum near 79–80°F. A passing trough is expected to increase atmospheric instability and cloud cover, which may suppress peak afternoon heating through reduced insolation and evaporative cooling from any showers. This aligns with climatological norms for mid-September, when the average daily high is approximately 79°F. Model spreads in timing and coverage of convection introduce modest uncertainty, keeping adjacent bins like 78–79°F and 82–83°F competitive until updated guidance or morning soundings clarify the extent of diurnal warming.
