**Overcast skies, light easterly winds, and a chance of showers are capping daytime heating in Wuhan on September 16, 2026, keeping the highest temperature tightly clustered in the mid-to-upper 20s °C.** Official and model guidance from sources including the China Meteorological Administration and international forecasts consistently point to a daily maximum between 26–29 °C, with the bulk of runs converging on 27–28 °C under cloudy conditions that reduce incoming solar radiation. Recent observations show the prior day reached 29 °C before a cooler airmass arrived, and current METAR trends plus hourly profiles indicate the peak is likely to occur mid-afternoon before any showers develop. Wuhan’s humid subtropical setting in mid-September normally sees highs near 28 °C; the present cloud cover and modest northeast flow are suppressing that by 1–2 °C. Market-implied probabilities (27 °C at 39 %, 28 °C at 28.5 %, 26 °C at 20 %) closely track this narrow forecast envelope, with lower probabilities assigned to outliers that would require either stronger insolation or heavier rain than currently modeled. Updated afternoon observations or revised short-range guidance remain the key near-term catalysts.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=zhhh
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
