Recent July 2026 ISM Services PMI at 54.1, just below consensus forecasts, highlighted resilient expansion in business activity (59.1) and new orders (57.2) amid ongoing services-sector strength, though employment contracted again to 47.4 and prices paid remained elevated near 70. These mixed signals, alongside July manufacturing PMI strength at 55.6 and broader labor-market softening, underpin the tight Polymarket distribution favoring 53.0–54.9 ranges. Traders are pricing in continued moderate growth above the 50 threshold, tempered by tariff effects, energy-cost pressures, and hiring restraint that could weigh on August readings ahead of the September 3 release. Market-implied odds reflect uncertainty over whether demand momentum will offset employment and price headwinds in the latest survey.
