Dune: Part Three sits at the front of the Best Visual Effects market with 54.5% implied probability, buoyed by the franchise’s established visual effects reputation and large-scale production expectations. The remainder of the field clusters tightly around 50%, reflecting an unusually open race this early in the 2027 cycle when few films have screened and guild or critics’ awards are still months away. Lower-priced contenders such as Project Hail Mary at 26% and The Odyssey at 10.5% illustrate how ambitious sci-fi and epic projects could gain ground on the strength of technical ambition, director pedigree, and post-release audience metrics. Momentum will hinge on upcoming trailer drops, release timing, and early industry buzz once 2026 films reach theaters.
