The Colima gubernatorial race for 2027 remains highly fragmented early in the cycle, with trader prices reflecting a wide-open contest among more than two dozen declared or potential candidates from Morena, PAN, PRI and smaller parties. Recent pre-electoral surveys show Morena holding a statewide edge, yet no single aspirant has consolidated support, leaving figures such as Leoncio Alfonso Morán Sánchez, Joel Padilla Peña and Virgilio Mendoza Amezcua trading in the low-to-mid 40s while others sit in the 20-35 range. Party negotiations over nominations, local legislative alignments and the absence of an incumbent seeking re-election continue to shape positioning ahead of primaries and the general vote. Scheduled party conventions and updated polling in the coming months could begin to separate the field.
