Gord Krantz’s long incumbency and record of re-election since 1980 underpin the 66% trader consensus for the October 26, 2026 Milton mayoral race. The 89-year-old incumbent, Canada’s longest-serving mayor, announced his re-election bid in April after emphasizing stability, fiscal management, and experience amid rapid population growth and infrastructure demands. Nominations closed August 21 with ten certified candidates, including regional councillor Sameera Ali, educator Zainab Azim, and others such as Nadeem Akbar, Maliha K. Ahmed, and George Minakakis. The fragmented field and absence of major recent shifts in polling or endorsements have kept challenger probabilities low, while Krantz’s historical performance and stated focus on taxes and development continue to shape market pricing ahead of advance voting in mid-October.
