Recent polling averages for New Zealand’s November 7, 2026 general election place National and Labour in the lead with roughly 30 percent support each, followed by the Greens near 12 percent and New Zealand First near 10 percent. Under the mixed-member proportional system, these figures position New Zealand First and the Greens as the primary contenders for third-highest seat total after the two major parties, with minor fluctuations in recent surveys and seat projections keeping both in contention. New Zealand First’s coalition role and targeted policy announcements, including recent immigration reforms, have sustained its standing, while Green gains in some August-September polls reflect shifts in voter preferences among smaller parties. ACT trails further back despite recent increases, and other parties remain well below the levels needed to challenge for third. Trader consensus reflects this close race between the two leading minor parties.
