Vermont's at-large House seat remains a strong Democratic hold due to the state's consistent partisan leanings, with no Republican victory since 1988 and a Cook Political Report rating of Solid D. Incumbent Becca Balint, seeking a third term after winning reelection by more than 30 points in 2024, holds commanding leads in recent University of New Hampshire polling, often exceeding 55 percent against Republican nominee Gerald Malloy. Malloy secured the GOP nomination in the August 11 primary, but the district's D+17 partisan voting index and Balint's incumbency advantages sustain trader consensus around 94.5 percent Democratic probability. Potential shifts could arise from late developments such as a significant national political realignment, major scandal, or sharp changes in voter turnout patterns within the November 2026 resolution window.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
