Persistent high pressure and southerly flow are sustaining above-average heat across north Texas, with National Weather Service and model consensus pointing to daytime highs near 100°F and overnight lows in the upper 70s for Dallas on September 16. Clear skies and dew points near 70°F limit radiational cooling, keeping the daily minimum well above the 1991-2020 average of 70°F. The near-even market odds between sub-72°F and 90°F+ outcomes reflect short-term forecast sensitivity to any late-arriving frontal boundary or model divergence in boundary-layer mixing, though current guidance shows low probability for either extreme. Updated runs from the GFS and ECMWF, plus the next NWS area forecast discussion, will clarify whether the ridge holds or weakens.
