Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate a developing marine layer with onshore flow and patchy fog overnight into August 30, supporting minimum temperatures in the mid-60s°F across Los Angeles stations. This follows a brief heat surge on August 28, with the shift to clearer mornings and southwest winds around 10-15 mph moderating radiative cooling. Historical climatology shows August 30 average lows near 65°F, yet trader emphasis on the 59°F-or-below outcome reflects uncertainty in fog depth and local wind patterns that could allow brief dips toward record territory near 56°F. Upcoming NWS updates and satellite observations of stratus coverage will likely refine these implied probabilities before resolution.
