Trader sentiment for the lowest NYC temperature on September 14 reflects substantial short-term forecast uncertainty, with closely matched probabilities across bins centered near the historical average low of 62°F. Primary drivers include variable cloud cover and wind patterns ahead of a potential frontal system, which could limit radiational cooling under clear skies or promote mixing that sustains milder overnight readings in the mid-60s. NOAA and NWS guidance highlight model divergence on exact timing of any clearing or breeze, while the urban heat island effect in Manhattan may moderate extremes compared to surrounding areas. Recent shifts in ensemble runs underscore how even modest changes in humidity or steering winds can tip outcomes between the leading 64–67°F ranges and cooler or warmer tails.
