Recent polling shows Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed holding a narrow statewide lead over Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan’s open U.S. Senate race ahead of the November 3 general election, with margins ranging from 2 to 7 points in September surveys. El-Sayed secured the Democratic nomination in the August 4 primary after a close contest against Rep. Haley Stevens, while Rogers faced no primary opposition. Grand Traverse County’s rural profile and voting patterns in prior cycles have historically favored Republican candidates, yet current trader consensus on county-level outcomes appears shaped by El-Sayed’s overall momentum, fundraising edge among individual donors, and performance in recent statewide aggregates. Minor-party candidates and write-in options register lower probabilities consistent with historical vote shares in the county.
