Short-range National Weather Service and NOAA model guidance for Los Angeles on September 10 shows a modest warming trend under building high pressure, with afternoon highs most likely peaking in the upper 80s. The close contest between the 86-87°F and 88-89°F bins reflects small but decisive differences in predicted marine-layer depth, onshore breeze timing, and cloud cover that can trim or boost maximum readings by 1–2°F. Historical September climatology places typical downtown highs near 84°F, so current conditions represent a modest positive anomaly. Updated model runs and afternoon observations tomorrow will resolve the narrow spread, with any delay in sea-breeze arrival favoring the higher bin.
