Dune: Part Three leads trader sentiment at 59% implied probability due to the franchise’s proven VFX pedigree, including Dune: Part Two’s 2025 Oscar win under director Denis Villeneuve and DNEG’s repeated technical excellence. Releasing December 18, 2026 in IMAX, the film benefits from early industry expectations around its scale and craftsmanship. A crowded field of 2026 sci-fi and blockbuster contenders—including Project Hail Mary, The Odyssey, Godzilla Minus Zero, Avengers: Doomsday, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day—sits near 50% or lower, reflecting high uncertainty this far ahead of release and the lack of precursor signals. Key swing factors will include first footage, critical reception to effects work, and guild recognition once campaigns begin.
