Recent cold air intrusion into the Sichuan Basin has initiated a cooling trend after early September highs near 35–38°C, with official guidance and ensemble models now projecting a September 13 maximum in Chongqing of 26–28°C amid increased cloud cover, light winds, and a 20–30% chance of light rain. Trader sentiment clusters on 26°C and 27°C because model runs differ on the precise timing of stabilization and boundary-layer mixing, while historical September averages near 27°C and ongoing humidity retention from the Yangtze-Jialing confluence support the narrow spread. New China Meteorological Administration updates and afternoon observations will likely refine the peak before resolution.
