**Current forecast models from MetService and global ensembles point to a Friday high near 13–14°C in Wellington under mostly sunny skies following Thursday’s rain, with northwesterly winds advecting milder maritime air.** Spring solar insolation and building high pressure are supporting modest daytime warming, while the city’s exposed coastal setting and variable wind speeds introduce uncertainty in peak readings. Recent model runs show limited spread around these values, keeping the 14–16°C range dominant in trader pricing; a stronger or more persistent NW flow could push readings toward 15–16°C, whereas any earlier wind shift or increased cloud cover would favor the lower 13–14°C outcomes. Updated NWP guidance and local observations through Thursday evening will be the next key inputs for market movement.
