Official National Weather Service forecasts for Los Angeles on September 21 point to a high near 77°F (25°C), with morning patchy fog and low clouds clearing to mostly sunny skies and southwest winds of 5–15 mph, supporting the market’s heavy weighting toward the 76–77°F outcome. This reflects a stable marine layer pattern typical for mid-September coastal Southern California, where onshore flow moderates temperatures and limits afternoon heating compared with inland valleys. Recent model runs show minimal spread, with no incoming troughs or offshore winds to drive significant warming or cooling. Traders appear to price in the high probability of resolution within the narrow 74–77°F window, as official observations at key stations like LAX will determine the exact maximum.
