Recent August ISM Services PMI data at 55.4, exceeding forecasts, highlighted accelerating demand with new orders at 60.9 and business activity at 61.7, extending the expansion streak to 26 months. Persistent price pressures at 72.6, linked to tariffs, Middle East supply disruptions, and AI-related costs, alongside contracting employment at 47.8, introduce uncertainty for September. These dynamics, amid sticky inflation and potential Fed policy responses, support trader consensus around 54-55.9 readings while leaving room for volatility from labor market signals or commodity trends.
