China's June CPI eased to 1.0% year-over-year, below consensus forecasts, amid continued food price deflation—particularly in pork—and softer non-food categories tied to subdued consumer demand and property sector weakness. This latest print, alongside stable core inflation near 1.0%, has kept trader focus on whether July will extend the downward trend or stabilize near recent averages. Persistent domestic demand softness and moderating transport costs support the leading 0.7-0.8% and 0.9-1.0% bands, while any rebound in energy or industrial goods prices could lift outcomes toward 1.1-1.2%. The narrow spread among top bins reflects uncertainty over the pace of recovery in household spending ahead of the data release.
