**Recent cluster of M7.0+ earthquakes drives trader caution, with USGS data showing three events in quick succession: a M7.5 near Tonga on March 24, M7.3 near Vanuatu on March 30, and M7.4 off Indonesia on April 1, all in the tectonically active Pacific Ring of Fire.** No additional M7.0+ quakes have occurred worldwide since, per the USGS real-time catalog, amid a global historical average of 15–20 such events annually, where natural clustering along subduction zones is common but short-term forecasting remains impossible due to chaotic fault dynamics. Market-implied odds reflect this baseline seismicity rate against the specific timeframe, with traders monitoring the USGS earthquake feed for real-time detections via global seismic networks; upcoming aftershock sequences or strain accumulation reports could influence sentiment, though probabilities hinge on unpredictable rupture triggers.

The resolution source for this market is the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Earthquake Hazards Program (https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/browse/significant.php#sigdef).
If an earthquake of substantial size has occurred within this market's timeframe but not yet appeared on the resolution source, this market may remain open until the end of the month following resolution time or until the earthquake in question otherwise appears on the resolution source. If such an earthquake has not appeared on the resolution source by that date, another credible resolution source will be used.
After a qualifying earthquake is registered, this market will remain open for 24 hours to account for any revisions to its recorded magnitude. After 24 hours, this market will resolve according to the latest provided data.
