Therese Terlaje and Vicente Ada advanced from their respective August 2026 primaries to face off in the November 3 general election for Guam governor, creating a closely contested matchup in the absence of an incumbent. The Democratic primary proved especially tight, with Terlaje and running mate Sabina Perez edging out Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio by roughly three percentage points, while Ada secured a clearer Republican nomination. With both tickets featuring experienced legislators and no dominant polling data available since the primaries, trader consensus reflects the territory’s competitive partisan balance and the potential influence of undecided voters on issues such as economic development, healthcare access, and public safety. Upcoming candidate forums, any new polling, or late shifts in turnout could widen the gap before election day.
