Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago on August 28 emphasize mostly sunny skies under stable high pressure, with highs reaching the lower 80s inland but moderated to the mid-to-upper 70s near Lake Michigan due to lake breeze effects and light easterly winds. Official point forecasts for O'Hare project a maximum around 82°F, aligning closely with the market's leading 82-83°F outcome at 58.5% implied probability. This positioning reflects climatological norms near the 81°F average high, absent any incoming warm advection or model shifts that could push readings into the mid-80s. Traders appear to weigh the consistent NWS guidance and minimal forecast spread against the slim potential for localized inland warming.
