Latest National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model guidance project a high of 92–94°F for Chicago on September 2 under mostly sunny skies with southwest winds of 10–15 mph, producing heat indices near 100°F amid elevated humidity. This consensus underpins the tight market split between the 92–93°F and 94–95°F bins. Minor differences among runs hinge on afternoon mixing depth, exact cloud cover, and boundary-layer moisture, which can shift peak readings by 1–2°F. The outlook sits well above the early-September climatological normal near 80°F, with traders weighing the risk of any late-day stabilization or slight model cooling against the current warm bias. Updated NWS briefings and midday observations will provide the next key signals before resolution.
