Latest National Weather Service and model guidance indicate partly cloudy skies with southerly flow on September 16, supporting a maximum temperature near 78–80°F in New York City, consistent with the market’s heaviest weighting on the 78–79°F and 80–81°F bins. Light southwesterly winds and moderate humidity levels are expected to limit rapid warming while allowing sufficient solar heating under broken cloud cover. This aligns closely with the 1991–2020 climatological average high of 76.3°F yet reflects the current warm anomaly in regional guidance. No strong frontal passages or significant moisture advection are forecast to suppress or elevate readings beyond these ranges before the daily maximum is recorded.
