Recent numerical weather prediction models indicate a northerly airflow pattern over New Zealand could deliver above-average warmth to Wellington on September 14, supporting the market's leading 50% implied probability for a high of 19°C or greater. This setup contrasts with the September climatological average high near 13–14°C and reflects reduced risk of cooler southerly intrusions in the short-term guidance. Forecast consensus from sources such as MetService and international ensembles shows daytime maxima clustering in the mid-teens Celsius, with uncertainty tied to cloud cover, wind strength, and exact timing of any frontal passages. Updated model runs and official briefings over the next 48 hours will likely refine these probabilities ahead of market resolution.
