Recent forecasts from the Met Office and global models indicate a high-pressure ridge over southern England on September 5, 2026, with light westerly winds and mostly clear overnight conditions favoring radiational cooling. This setup supports minimum temperatures near 13–14 °C in central London, consistent with the market’s heaviest weighting on those outcomes. Model consensus shows limited cloud cover and dew points around 10–12 °C, limiting further cooling while preventing significant warming from advection. Historical September climatology for the city places typical overnight lows in this range, with deviations driven mainly by wind speed and sky cover rather than large-scale air-mass changes. Updated runs through September 4 will refine the exact minimum before resolution.
