Official National Weather Service climatological reports confirm a minimum temperature of 74°F on September 8, 2026, at both downtown Los Angeles and Los Angeles International Airport stations, aligning with the market's dominant 74-75°F outcome. Following heavy rain from Hurricane Marie remnants earlier in the period, a rebuilding high-pressure system suppressed marine layer cooling and maintained elevated overnight temperatures in the mid-70s, well above the 1991-2020 normal low near 64°F. This synoptic pattern, combined with clear skies and light winds, produced the observed minimum without significant radiative cooling. While model revisions or station-specific data adjustments could theoretically shift readings, the consistent official observations across primary sites make such changes improbable.
