**Trader consensus strongly favors 31°C as Tokyo's highest temperature on September 9, 2026, with market-implied odds exceeding 96%.** This positioning reflects official forecasts and real-time observations from agencies such as the Japan Meteorological Agency, showing afternoon highs near 30–33°C amid southerly flow, high humidity, and widespread thunderstorms that cap daytime warming. Persistent cloud cover and precipitation, with probabilities near 90–100% during peak heating hours, align with typical late-summer conditions where maximum temperatures rarely exceed early-September averages. Historical analogs and ensemble model runs reinforce this narrow range, as stronger subtropical ridging or delayed rain would be needed to push readings higher. A rapid clearing trend or underestimated insolation could still shift the outcome toward 32°C or above before evening, though current data make such shifts unlikely.
