Official NWS forecasts for Austin on August 28, 2026, project a high near 100°F under mostly sunny skies with light easterly winds and minimal cloud cover, consistent with late-summer high-pressure dominance across central Texas. This setup maximizes solar insolation while limiting convective mixing or moisture influx that could cap temperatures. Model consensus clusters around 99–101°F, with slight spreads arising from variable afternoon boundary-layer mixing, dewpoint trends near 70°F, and exact steering of any isolated thunderstorms. The near-even split between the 98–99°F and 100–101°F bins reflects traders weighting these subtle forecast uncertainties, including station-specific readings at Austin-Bergstrom versus urban effects, against climatological August averages near 96–98°F.
