Official NWS forecasts for Dallas on September 2 project a high in the mid-to-upper 90s under southerly flow, with 20-30% afternoon thunderstorm chances tied to increasing instability and moisture. This creates the key uncertainty differentiating market bins: stronger or earlier convection could cap readings at 94-95°F or below by limiting insolation, while delayed or scattered activity allows peaks near 96-97°F. Recent model runs show modest cooling from prior hot conditions, with dew points near 70°F supporting heat indices above 105°F but minimal impact on the actual maximum. Trader consensus clusters tightly around these central outcomes, reflecting narrow forecast spreads and typical late-summer variability in convective timing.
