Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate persistent marine layer influence and moderate onshore westerly flow will cap daytime heating in San Francisco on September 21, following cooler conditions on September 20. This setup favors a high temperature in the mid-to-upper 60s, aligning with the market's heaviest positioning on the 66-67°F and 68-69°F bins. Recent September cooling after an early-month heat spike has reinforced trader expectations for typical late-summer marine moderation rather than anomalous warmth. Key resolution hinges on the official NWS maximum at the downtown or airport station, with limited upside potential absent any unexpected offshore flow shift.
