Forecast models from sources including the Met Office and regional analyses project a daytime high near 29–30°C in Shanghai on September 6, driven by persistent warm, humid air under variable cloud cover and light northerly winds. Recent days of scattered showers and overcast conditions have kept highs in the 30–32°C range, but increased precipitation chances and thicker cloud decks could limit solar heating and cap the peak closer to 28°C or below. This genuine forecast spread—arising from differences in how models handle moisture and steering patterns—explains why trader-implied odds sit near 50% across the listed thresholds rather than favoring one decisively. Updated runs from global ensembles and official briefings in the next 24–48 hours will likely sharpen the outlook before resolution.
