Official National Weather Service forecasts for San Francisco on September 9, 2026, call for a high near 84–86°F under partly to mostly cloudy skies with light northeast winds, consistent with recent onshore flow and marine layer influence that has kept readings below the prior day's 85–87°F peaks. Trader emphasis on 92–95°F outcomes reflects uncertainty in model guidance around afternoon warming potential if cloud cover thins faster than expected or if downslope effects strengthen briefly. Historical September averages near 71°F and the current heat advisory backdrop for inland areas underscore how even modest deviations in boundary-layer mixing or wind direction could shift the daily maximum across the 88–96°F resolution bins, with updated NWS briefings and hourly observations the key near-term catalysts.
