OpenAI’s pursuit of a $1 trillion IPO valuation remains the dominant factor shaping trader views on closing market cap, following its confidential June 2026 S-1 filing and March private round at $852 billion. CEO Sam Altman has rejected lower targets, prompting advisers to favor a 2027 debut over a potential late-2026 listing that might price below the threshold amid post-SpaceX volatility and broader tech sentiment. With monthly revenue near $2 billion and ongoing heavy losses tied to compute and infrastructure spending, the market-implied odds reflect uncertainty around whether public demand for AI equities will support the premium once the company exits private status. Key upcoming catalysts include any SEC review progress or updated guidance on listing windows.
