Persistent northeasterly flow and lingering cloud cover from a post-frontal pattern are holding Chicago temperatures below seasonal norms, with National Weather Service guidance centering the September 23 high in the mid-60s. Model consensus and recent observations point to modest daytime heating under partly sunny skies, differentiating the closely matched 64-65°F and 66-67°F bins from lower ranges like 62-63°F. Historical September averages near 73°F underscore the current anomaly, while short-range forecast updates through the next 48 hours remain the key variable that could shift probabilities if mixing or insolation exceeds expectations. Trader positioning reflects this narrow uncertainty band around official guidance.
