Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and model guidance indicate persistent cloud cover and widespread showers or thunderstorms overnight into September 13, 2026, which limit radiational cooling and support a minimum temperature in the low 70s°F across New York City. High dew points and southerly flow associated with an approaching warm front maintain elevated boundary-layer moisture, reducing the diurnal temperature range compared with typical mid-September climatology near 63°F. This setup explains the market concentration on 72-73°F and 70-71°F outcomes, as traders weigh the balance between forecast model consensus and any last-minute shifts in precipitation timing or intensity that could allow slightly greater cooling. Updated National Weather Service briefings and morning observations on September 13 will provide the final resolution data.
