Recent August CPI data showed a rebound to 0.8% year-on-year, matching expectations and lifting from July's 0.5% low amid higher global energy and commodity prices tied to Middle East tensions, plus tech sector demand. This momentum, alongside modest core inflation at 1% and producer prices at 3.8%, supports trader positioning around a continued gradual uptick into September. Persistent drags from food deflation, weak domestic consumption, housing softness, and industrial overcapacity keep lower-range outcomes competitive. Scheduled data releases, oil price movements, and any fresh policy signals on demand support could widen separation among the closely matched bins before the October print.
