**Nathalie Roy, the incumbent CAQ MNA and Speaker of the National Assembly, holds the strongest position in the Montarville riding ahead of the October 5, 2026, Quebec general election.** She announced her bid for a fifth term in August 2026 and benefits from established local support in the Boucherville and Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville area, where the CAQ captured nearly 46% of the vote in 2022. Recent candidate announcements and vote projections from late August and early September show the CAQ leaning ahead locally despite broader provincial headwinds for the party. Jean-François Cloutier, the PQ candidate and former investigative journalist at the Journal de Montréal, represents the main challenger after his August 2026 announcement; he brings regional ties and media profile but trails in riding-specific projections. Other declared candidates, including Mathieu Lavoie for the Liberals and Ginette Langlois for Québec solidaire, register lower support. The nomination deadline of September 17 leaves limited room for major shifts before the campaign intensifies. Trader pricing reflects Roy’s incumbency advantage and historical CAQ strength in the riding, while acknowledging uncertainty tied to provincial trends and the short timeline to election day.
