Recent polling shows the Michigan Senate general election between Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed and Republican Mike Rogers remains closely contested statewide, with El-Sayed holding narrow leads in most surveys released since the August 4 primary. Oakland County, a populous suburban battleground that backed moderate Democrat Haley Stevens in the Democratic primary, features divided voter blocs where turnout, economic concerns, and candidate positioning on issues like healthcare and federal spending could determine the margin. El-Sayed’s progressive primary victory and Rogers’ unopposed Republican nomination have kept the focus on swing voters in this area, with both campaigns prioritizing outreach ahead of the November 3 contest. The tight market pricing reflects uncertainty over whether either candidate can consolidate support or expand margins in this key county.
