Recent National Weather Service and private model consensus points to a high near 82°F for Denver on September 9, driven by moderate northeast winds, partly to mostly sunny skies, and a post-frontal air mass following the early-September heat wave that produced daily highs of 90–94°F. Surface high pressure building from the north is suppressing afternoon mixing and keeping dew points low, limiting convective heating while the region’s typical September diurnal range of roughly 25–30°F supports an overnight low near 55°F. Historical climatology shows an 81.5°F average high, but the current pattern lacks the strong downslope warming or clear, dry conditions needed for readings above 85°F. Traders have priced the 82–83°F bin highest because updated model runs through early September 8 show minimal spread and no signals for significant warming or cooling before the daily maximum is reached.
