Incumbent Republican Erin Houchin faces Democrat Brad Meyer in Indiana’s 9th congressional district on November 3, 2026, following Meyer’s May 5 primary victory. The district’s consistent Republican performance, including Houchin’s large 2024 margin, combined with nonpartisan ratings classifying the seat as solid or safe Republican, underpins trader consensus on a strong GOP hold. Houchin’s uncontested primary further reinforced positioning. A decisive national Democratic wave, major scandal, or late redistricting shift could alter the outlook, though no such catalysts have emerged in recent months.
