Trader consensus clusters on 78–81°F lows for Houston on September 22 because National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance show persistent high pressure and elevated dew points limiting overnight radiative cooling. Recent climatological data indicate typical late-September minima near 72°F, yet a strong ridge has kept recent overnight lows in the mid-70s to low 80s with minimal frontal intrusion. Light winds and high humidity further suppress temperature drops, while daytime heating in the mid-90s maintains elevated boundary-layer temperatures into the evening. Updated model runs through the weekend show little change ahead of any potential early-October pattern shift, keeping the market-implied range tightly aligned with the latest forecast consensus.
