Recent National Weather Service and ensemble forecasts for New York City indicate overnight lows in the mid-60s Fahrenheit on September 12, driven by northerly flow and mostly clear to partly cloudy conditions that favor radiational cooling after a mild daytime high near 80°F. This setup supports the market's tight clustering around 62–67°F bins, where small differences in predicted dew points, wind speeds, or residual cloud cover can shift the exact minimum by a degree or two. Historical September averages near 63°F provide context, yet the current pattern's departure from warmer baselines reflects the primary catalyst behind trader consensus. Updated model runs and NWS briefings through September 11 will likely refine these probabilities ahead of resolution.
