Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and models place Houston's September 10 high in the low 90s, centered near the long-term average of 90.3°F, with a 50% chance of afternoon thunderstorms driven by Gulf moisture and the sea breeze. These conditions typically limit extreme heat through cloud cover and rain while preventing sharp cooling, aligning with the market's emphasis on 90-91°F as the modal outcome. Recent days have featured similar low-to-mid-90s readings amid persistent humidity and scattered storms, reinforcing trader focus on this narrow range over outliers. Updated model runs and local observations through the day will determine whether convection arrives early enough to cap temperatures below 90°F or allows a brief push higher.
