Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon, including repeated airstrikes and evacuation orders targeting Tyre and surrounding districts since June 2026, reflect efforts to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure amid a fragile U.S.-brokered ceasefire that has seen repeated violations. Israel has seized strategic positions such as the Ali al-Taher ridge near Nabatieh and maintains a security zone in parts of the south, while conducting demolitions and strikes in Tyre district villages like Al-Mansouri as recently as September 2026. Hezbollah drone and rocket activity continues to prompt Israeli responses, with over 4,380 reported Lebanese deaths and significant displacement since fighting intensified in March. Trader assessments hinge on whether ground incursions expand into Tyre itself or remain limited to airstrikes and border-adjacent control, influenced by any new diplomatic progress or escalatory incidents within the resolution window.
